Description
A Browser Helper Object (BHO) is a small program that runs with the Web browser to offer tools not otherwise included in the browser. A BHO is installed by other applications, typically toolbar accessories. Examples include tools to display specific graphic formats, to play multimedia files or add toolbars. Plug-ins can redirect search results, track Web browsing habits, or install other software. Types of Browser plug-ins include ActiveX controls and Browser Helper Object (BHOs) and Mozilla Firefox Extensions.
